Lowered on 19s. Rubbing. Is it Wrong Tyres?

Hi all,

Just got my car back from the mechanics after fitting 19 inch wheels and H&R lowering springs, and driving home noticed rubbing on the back wheels. It's not dramatic, but it is noticeable when I go over a bump or an uneven bit of road. In a straight line on a good bit of road there's nothing.

This leads me to think that a very small adjustment would fix the issue. The two options I think I have are;

A) replace the current 255/35/19s on the back for 255/30/19s (any advice on other options of tyre much appreciated).

B) refit the old springs on the back which I think will give me 15ml as it's the 3.0i E85 which I think came with the sports springs. I could be wrong here though.

As you can probably tell I'm no expert so any and all advice welcome.

Cheers.

Paul.

Offset is cast into the wheel details to help. You could fit some thicker spring seat rubbers , which will raise it a little but you will keep the same spring progression as the front by keeping the same springs on the car. It may help. Also , when was the car last geo'd up, as adjusting things can make a difference for the rubbing. Just a few ideas.

Re offset, just googled it -
Offset: et38 front / et35 rear.

Thanks for advice, the thicker seat rubbers is a great idea. Any advice on which ones to go for and where I can find them?

Not sure what geo'd up means!

Bit more googling and found this thread;

This looks to be the parts I'd need so now it's just finding them. Might give my local BMW dealer a ring.

I ran 9.5 rears with a 35 offset, on lowering springs with 265/30/19 tyres without issues.
It must be minimal contact but unfortunately you are playing with small margins

The items I ordered which raised approx 10mm was :
2 x OE BMW Federunterlage hinten HA Gummi Scheibe10MM Höherlegung 33531136387
