Hi all,

Could you please post pictures of your lowered cars and tell me what kits you've used and how it compares to standard in terms of ride quality. Thanks!

Well I have KW3's installed - so ride quality is customizable - but the main issue is that springs are linear so you get bounce - unlike progressive springs.

Anyone!? I'm looking at fitting Eibach springs to mine in the New Year (as I don't want to spend £2,000 on coilovers) but cars seem to sit so differently when you look through google images and I'm concerned that it will make the rear too low and not the front.

I've considered just fitting the Eibach springs to the front but that seems like a stupid idea! The 6 pot cars seem to sit lower at the front though and I hate the rear sitting lower!!

In the e85/6 you can add different size spring pads to the rear springs to affect how low the rear is (I used a thick 10mm pad to reduce the 40mm FK spring drop).

I don't know if a similar method could be used on the e89?

Oh that's interesting! Thanks for that! That means I can fit the Eibach springs and then add a 5mm pad to make sure the rear doesn't sit lower than the front.

I didn't want to fit stiffer front springs and not rears as I certainly don't want to add understeer!

On the e85 5mm is standard and you can get 10 & 15mm thick from the dealers (or ebay) - they are e46 items.

I have no idea if similar exist for the e89. Best of luck

Here's pic of my 35iS with M-Sport suspension and Eibach springs. 19" wheels with 265/30 tyres rear and 235/35 front.

Beautiful! What is the ride like on the Eibachs compared to the M Sport?

Ive had both Eibach and H&R springs

The H&R makes the Z handle flatter and has the perfect stance , there are clearance issues with this set up , you have to CRAWL over speed
bumps which may annoy you if there are lots near where you live

The ride is on the hard side with the H&R and edc in sport mode

The ride on Eibachs is close to stock with some improvement with handling , no clearance issues with speed bumps

Currently debating to buy KW3 at the moment to try and get some comfort back , also considering ditching the RFT

Thank you for this! I'm not wanting it too low or too firm, just want it to sit slightly lower at the front and for it to not have reverse take (rear sitting lower) as that hurts my eyes!

Looking at my car on a petrol forecourt I'm confident that if the Eibachs lower the front ever so slightly more than the rear then I'll be really happy!

I'm glad you've said the Eibachs are near to stock in terms of firmness, I really don't want to ruin what Comfort I have! I'm sure on Eibachs once the RFT's go it'll be lovely!

Eibachs should be on by the end of January unless anyone has some for sale now??
