Lower steering column/UJ assembly....baffled....

The lower steering UJ's on the shaft are pretty shot on my 2006 E85 2ltr. So I've been hnting about for a shaft, complete with UJ's.
I've been looking on the BMW OE parts listings, Realoem website and ebay...and my head is about to explode.

I'm getting listings for parts that have superseded others, conflicting info regarding what part number fits what model and prices for new ranging from £173 to £1000 depending on which part number you go by.
At first glance, some info would suggest that one model of shaft was used on virtually everything in 2006, yet....

For example, Ebay listed column for an E85 2003 2.5ltr M54 fits my 2006 2.0ltr E85 according to Ebay...

Can anyone clarify, please?
 
is it the intermediate shaft you after?
steering columns are the same from 2003-2008 except automatic gearbox and M's
 
Apologies, GenZed, yes - the intermediate with UJ's. That's good to hear!

I think I've sussed the £170 price is actually for the plastic clip on covers.
