Lost nut from thermostat area !!! :/

Just replaced the thermostat on my '03 2.5l , but found a 10mm nut on the ground. Can't see anywhere for it to go, but maybe I am just losing it. :P (TBH It may have been on the ground before I started, and I could be just paranoid).

Anyone know where this might have come from, as the thermostat only uses bolts. Could go in some unseen dark crevice under the themostat I suppose.

The coolant sensor is now leaking , so a frustrating day on the Z4 !!!

Hopefully an o-ring on Monday should sort out the problem.

is it the nut that fixes the hoist eye from the front of the engine?

Otherwise maybe accidentally removed a nut of the waterpump?

As for the O ring from the coolant sensor, that isn't sold seperately, but you can use the O ring from the inlet manifold (blind)plug:

Cheers,

I got a coolant sensor o-ring from BMW which has solved the coolant sensor leak (part no. 13 62 1 743 299)

Will check the water pump - the diagram doesn't seem to show where it goes (the no 14 bolt)

the #14 bolt goes on the #13 stud and holds the #12 bracket tight.
You need to remove this bracket when you replace the thermostat because the lower hole in that bracket is hold down with one of the thermostat bolts.
