Losing oil

Hey guys and gals,

First post from me and after a little help.

Any obvious places the 2.0 e85 is common for losing oil, it's not the rocker cover from what I can see this has been replaced however it looks like it's coming from the two plugs/sensors that seem to be at the front of the engine. Just under the rocker cover gasket.

By front I mean closest to the front bumper.

That would be your Vanos solenoids. The seals are known to perish and leak so that would be my first check. Simply unbolt, unplug and pull them out. New o rings are cheap as chips. Make sure you keep an eye of which connector goes to which solenoid.

As above, Vanos solenoid seals are a common one.
Also worth checking the oil filter housing gasket area and the vacuum pump on the back of the engine head.

Worth replacing the Vanos solenoid o rings with Viton replacements. They are less prone to damage over time due to heat.

Awesome thanks guys, will get straight on it. 👌

Can anyone confirm the right part number for the 2008 2.0 for the vanos o rings?
