Loose Screw - Driving me nuts

OK so I have a screw loose or to be more specific the Zed's dash does

On any gentle corner a small screw rolls perhaps 1 or 2 cm left to right and sometimes similar on pulling away. The noise seems to be central to the car and in the dash. It's def. not any kind of wire tapping, bolts creaking, etc., but a short roundhead screw rolling inside what sounds like a plastic channel

Banging the dash doesn't cause if to move

I've pulled out various inspection points, removed ashtray to check the console area, lower inspection panel, kick plates and cannot find anything. Glove box emptied, etc. No recent work that could be a cause.

Slim chance, but has anyone found anything similar in their dash in the past?

Thanks before in frustration I rip the dash out...

Trouble is that once tuned into the sound it's very noticeable

Could it be in the vents? Perhaps use one of those long extendable magnetic picks to get it (if it is in there)?

I can hear the bloody screw now and it's not even my car, and I'm in my house watching TV Ffs

That's helped guys. Watching TV and I'm sure the screw is rattling in that now....

I think the centre vents are coming out next...

I spent weeks looking for exactly the same it turned out to be my key ring rubbing against the cowling.

Sadly not so obvious..
Been driving around today with centre vent and radio out and I think ithe little critter is behind the speedo binnacle.
More dismantling as time permits...

I was going to suggest similar - the mother of emergency stops from about 60 mph.

I was going to suggest similar - the mother of emergency stops from about 60 mph.

Of course following all this advice the next thing is I'll be pulled for driving like a loon around Lichfield.

Officer - 'What's a matter with you son - do you have a screw loose, driving like that?'
Driver - 'Yes - how did you know? Could you hear it'
