Looks like I need a new torque converter

Car at my local bmw dealer been there two days. The bmw technician said he has reconfigured the gearbox he said that might be OK if the rumbling noise returns I need a new torque converter they quoted me £1800 think I might get rid it's turning into a money pit. Unfortunately I haven't enjoyed z4 ownership.
 
It seems true that the legendary bmw build quality doesnt apply to these cars, there seems to be an abundance of issues kicking about, Ive had a few myself but apart from the roof motor have managed to address these myself...already spent more on this car in 6 months than i have in 6 years on my daily, still love the zed tho :driving:
 
Avoid dealers, they seem to have a habit of replacing parts until the issue is solved. It's a very costly method of maintenance. Even if they are right, an indy will be a lot cheaper.
