82bhp difference?

E46 M3 216 bhp per ton 1565kg
E85 3.0si 186bhp per ton 1408kg

Think your mate needs to learn how to drive a bit..

Stats are stats i guess..... from the ones i am reading the M3 does 100 in 12.5secs,the Z4 3.0 in 14 secs....

The guys on here that have done santa pod in their 3.0's arent hitting 100mph on the 1/4 mile and done around 14 secs on there very best runs..


That said,3.0 owners have the fastest 3.0's out there...

i drove a 3.0 si vert the other day and I own an e46 m3 vert, I can say that for deffo, 0-60/0-100 my m3 would beat the z4. the z4 feels quicker off the line though, I guess because its lighter. so street racing with a bit of traffic z4 might be quicker in that situation.

The transit folk take this matter far more seriously!!

If you want a fast zero hassle car a 335d (aside from HPFp issues) with a remap will run rings around a e46.

My work colleague as a Insignia VXR... Looks like a rep car but in stock form in a straight line is as fast as my TT (which is pushing 370bhp now!)

used to have an e93 330d, quick but power delivery, brakes, handling, no good! and its physically massive. that's what keeping me from getting an e93 m3.
