Looking to buy a Z4 3.0

Hello everyone,

I've been perusing the forum for a little while now - some great information here!

I thought I'd put a quick post here as I'm in the market for 3.0 manual convertible - it would be great to find one that has been looked after by a forum member rather than just from anyone on Autotrader etc! Having had a look at a few cars, I'm hoping to find one with heated, M Sport seats - electric adjustment would be nice to have but not essential. I'm not that concerned about mileage - rather have a high mileage car that has been cared for then a low miler that has been neglected.

So if anyone is thinking of selling then do let me know! And if anyone has any thoughts on any other 'must have' spec options then do let me know...

By way of background - I currently own a Honda S2000 which I've had for the past 5 years. It's been fun, but now looking for a change, and have always liked the look of the Z4! 8)

Cheers,

Chris

I don't know if it fits what you're looking for, but I've just put mine up for sale: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=63902&p=944166

The seats aren't heated, but the normal heater is very good if you're thinking of going topless all year round...

Mine is also for sale, though it's an auto. There's a link in my sig

Worth a look at Bing's car if you're after a 3.0. The spec and colour combination is fantastic and shouldn't be ruled out just because it's an auto.

Z4 is a completely different animal to the S2000.

+1 def should look at Bings car, I know it's a subjective thing but I felt the auto box in Bings car was a nicer drive than the manuals boxed Z's that I drove and the box can be put into a semi manual mode with super quick changes...nothing like a normal lazy auto box

If I could find a 3.0si in Grey I'd consider getting rid of mine, but my god would I struggle to let it go

It's what you're looking for in that it's a meticulously maintained high miler, that I've made right up to top spec.

Make Jan an offer, force him to get an M... Wait till he's had the 224s sorted and fitted though

Ive spent to much on mine since Christmas to get rid

x2

Defiantly worth a look, :D

Thanks for the various helpful posts - will have a ponder about the auto vs manual... What is the prevailing view about the 3.0 vs the 3.0si engine - are the HVA problems that some seem to have suffered something to be worried about? The Z4 for us would be a weekend car, so would inevitably end up being left some time between runs.

If you are not frightened by high mileage (though 120k isn't really high for a 3.0l of this age) then this is a hell of a lot car for under £5k, seems to have all the toys...

From a dealer too so you could have it away for £4.5k with only light haggling. :driving:

Just buy Bing's car it is stunning and you won't find one that has been looked after better than his, it is a brilliant colour combination with plenty of extras on it.

There's plenty of Zeds out there, though a large proportion that don't have the TLC given to Bings.

For a Black car, Bings version of dirty used to originally be about my standard of clean... & after a couple of meets he got me bloody infected with a bit of male OCD...

Yeah....what he said :D

Just a little Easter weekend bump for this - in case anyone is on the edge selling a 3 litre manual with heated m sport seats!

Bing's car looks fantastic but after a bit of soul searching, I think I do want to stick with a manual for now... GLWTS though! 8)
