Hello there. new to this forum, but been on plenty of others. I currently have an E36 328i Sport, and my wife drives a 120d - we are BMW fans. We've finally decided to buy a WE toy in the form of a Z4, and have around £7k to spend. Car must be an auto, and she wants heated seats plus I'd like Sat Nav. Must be a 3.0 too!
Anyway, I'm fairly happy with what I'm looking for in buying a car in general, but I did have a question I can't seem to find the answer to. A friend who is handy with cars etc has an E46 M3 on an 04 plate, and was telling me about the cars modules. He was talking about fitting Intravee, and programming the screen to allow more options to be shown etc. All sounds great, but he says that BMW changed the modules in late 2003, and this apparently makes a difference to what can be done to the car. Is this the case with Z4's..? I ask because I've found a nice '03 plate car with the correct spec, but don't want it if I can't then make some alterations such as retro fitting BT and MFSWB's etc...
Any opinions would be great, or if anyone know's of any good cars for sale...
