Looking for better exhaust sound..

Would like to hear some cracks and burps when letting off the throttle, and just more exhaust instead of intake noise when getting on it. What are my options? Would like to keep it budget friendly, but willing to spend some if it means it will really transform the sound of the car.

Backbox delete may be more than I bargain for.. don't wanna be too imposing on others. Bypass I've thought about but haven't seen enough videos to be convinced. Haven't even seen what it looks like on the dual exhaust only the quad. Any pictures or videos to look at? My welding skills aren't too bad I may be able to whip something up myself.

This video is the one that has made me decide to go secondary cat Delete instead of muffler delete

What's your budget? Might be worth dropping nfbr a PM about the Scorpion cat back system?

I've heard some aftermarket exhaust systems and they don't seem to be the sound I'm looking for.. I want the raw crackle and pops when letting off the gas and it just seems like they offer a deeper growl, which is good, but not nearly visceral enough for my taste. And I really don't wanna just straight pipe cause to most people it will just sound like a loud annoying car.

Not bad at all! I wonder if there are any emission lights that pop up or check engine lights.. I wonder what it would sound like with the secondary cat delete plus the dual bypass of the backbox.. got my thinking :)

Search for "BB Bypass".

I am going to do this on my Zed although looking at the mod I know someone who can do it themselves rather than Webber Engineering I think but definately a good mod. Video before and after on page 4 and pictures of mod page 17 I think from memory but if not exactly these page numbers close.

Budget friendly - my mod: replaced rear muffler (backbox) with 2 sport 'bullet' mufflers. does pretty much what you asked for. I'm happy with it.

Can't see the videos, can you post them again? Also, where'd you get those? Did it require welding or was it direct bolt on?

Hi, on the si (and earlier) cars there is no join apart from at the front/gearbox area-these look like they are connected via an engineered in clamp after the back box was cut off.
I think the M cars have bolt on back boxes.

Well spotted Smartbear - I had the muffler shop weld flanges onto the cut off pipes, and the old back box and new mufflers, so I can easily switch between them if I decide to go back to the OEM muffler.
I'll fix that youtube link shortly - sorry about that igeak691
Edit - there you go, links are back up.

They're a couple of bullet style sport mufflers. Nothing fancy, as I didn't want to spend big money then decide I didn't like it. But I'm happy with the result, so (a little) money well spent :)
