Looking for a Z4

I've just gone through this process myself and looked at pretty much the same cars.

For me, the Z provided the best all round. I need it as a daily driver and for 3.0l the mileage is fantastic (and 3.0 is better than 2.0 - sorry Woots) it looks the best of all the options IMO and there's a good choice out there at that price. And, when it's sunny in this country, you really don't want a roof.

The S2000 was too revvy for a daily and I didn't think the choice was as good (discounting the thrashed and imported) and the 350Z is, well, a Nissan.

I got a Maldives Blue 53 plate with 37k on it and every conceivable extra for 10k on the nose - if you look you will find.

Look at me, 1 week of Z4 ownership and I play like I know what I'm talking about. :D

And the 2.0 kicks out 150...doesnt sound like much BUT
If you imagine the M54 engine is made up of 231 horses that are very old....beyond their best...racing days over...only good for pony trekking
And then compare it to 150 horses which are rampant stallions galloping everywhere in search of a mate

Thats the difference you see..
The choise is yours
Just thought the 2.0 deserved a shoutout :P

Love it!

Jealous? :poke:

Of What?

Gannet,

No worries, I checked mt service book today. It last had an inspection 1 service in July 2008, so Im not past the two years just yet. I intend to get it booked in within the next month. I intend to do a 3K mile road trip this summer so it needs to be in good condition. Woudl you recommend standard service (As the trip comp is saying) or pay extra and just get an inspection 1 or 2?

few!

If the last was an inspection 1, it is just due an Oil service, then an Inspection 2, then oil etc

Well the Mrs decided to try and take control of this car swapping business.

And she sort of makes sense. She loves the Z4 and will let me have it, if i really want it, and i do but.... she is raising the point about the kids and no back seat.

So, today i went and test drove a 330i coupe, m-sport with red leather and i'm now becoming extremely indecisive. The run flats were the only crappy downside to the 330 i drove. I even liked the auto box, which has the potential to be loved. The engine was absolute peach and it was a nice place to be, spacious enough too.

Now i've got decisions to make. The one thing i couldn't believe was the ludicrous MPG of the 57-plate onwards 330i. Even in Auto it nearly 38mpg combined apparently. Seems insane. I would be happy to do 30. Which infact is what i did on the test drive, which consisted of a right a-road hoon.
