Looking for a little help choosing a Z4

Hi everyone!

I'm looking to buy an E89 Z4. I've just fallen in love with the interior and exterior styling. I've read some people describe in as "dated" but personally I think the design is timeless.

I'm in a slightly complicated situation right now in that I'm on an extended business trip in america, returning to UK in late July. I want to pick up a Z4 pretty soon after I get back. I took a 28i for a test drive out here, absolutely loved it - loads of power and torque from a 2.0L petrol. I've seen that 28i models are pretty pricey over here so it's likely I'll pick up a 35i instead - more power and THAT straight 6!

There's a good number of used sDrive35i Z4 on the used market, and lots are pretty low mileage (<40K) and surprisingly cheap. My question is, should I be concerned if someone is selling a 2010 Z4 with less than 20K miles on it? I've seen a few low mileage 35i z4's for around £18K - which is amazing in my mind.

Is there anything I should look out for while looking at E89s? Any "must have" features? I'm torn between a manual and the DCT...I'm leaning more towards manual... :driving:

A lot of people have these as 2nd or 3rd cars.

I wouldn't be worried if it had really low mileage. It would be a positive in my mind.

Thats a good point, also worth mentioning the one I saw was in north london and therefore the guy probably only drives it at weekends or rarely.

Only 2 weeks until I'm back...can't wait to have a fun new car :D

I use my z4 coupe everyday. It's the only car i own. But these cars can be used a day to day basis. I hope you find the right one for you.

I have a 2.8i and have just been out on the Nationals run no problem with keeping up with the 3.5i and M's, best bit only cost me £30 to fill up after run 3.0is - £40 tax -tax per year only £180 vs 500+ down side not the 6 cylinder sound track - but still a decent sound - which ever you choose it should make you happy - enjoy

So I've got my eye on a couple within my price range.

However, one 35i I'm looking at (a 2009 one) has 65,000 miles on it (one owner and full dealer service history). It looks really nice and it's very close to where i'm going to be. It's also DCT, which is fine but I'd preferably have a manual.

Being sold by a dealer for £16.9K

I'm also looking at a <20K miles manual 35i that's 2K more (and waaaayyy further away).

Would any of you have concerns buying a 65K mile 35i?

Part of me thinks "well this just means it's done 10K miles a year, (therefore it's actually been driven!), but part of me worries about when I come to resell it it'll likely have 85K+ miles and might be hard to sell.

Thoughts? Is that a reasonable price?

RIGHT! Deposit is down on the lower mileage manual.

Picking her up on friday. CANNOT WAIT :D

Will post more photos when I've actually got her. In the meantime here's one from their website:
