Look what I've found!

Greetings y'all,

OK, so I recently posted about a Titanium Silver 3.0i Roadster that I was interested in and thanks to everyone that replied with their feedback. I thought I'd take another look around what's available in Switzerland and I've found this:

It's slightly higher than what I want to pay, but it solves my issues of protecting the Roadster during our Swiss Winter having to find and buy a hardtop and/or outdoor cover (I have an open style garage). ...and damn, a white Z4 Coupe looks gorgeous! Only dilemma is the whole Roadster vs Coupe debate which has been spoken enough about, but has so much relevance. ;)

Specs: 2007 3.0si, 77k mileage

Have a great day!

Well you've got some decisions to make, take your time and keep looking you don't want to buy this at a higher price than you had budgeted for unless it's perfect for you. Good luck and lets us know when you get the car

Get a roadster, the coupe looks great but you can't put the roof down. Get a hard top for the roadster then you've got the best of both worlds

thanks again MO! you're a wonderful source for good advice. it's easy to cloud one's judgement just to get the Zed-fix. i'll make an offer on the TS 3.0i Roadster and take it from there.

that was the plan. i've been looking around for hardtops and they seem really scarce. i'll try and ask the dealer that's selling the Roadster if he can try and source one for me.

interior looks a tad bland, thats probably just cos i don't like alluminium dash

i think the photo doesn't do it much justice IMO, but i've never seen the Alu dash in real life so I can't really comment. :)

If you search on here (and eBay.de) IiRC there is a dealer in Germany that sells hard tops although you will need to collect - a good excuse for a road trip though :). You do want to check that the roadster has the hardtop preparation done though - I'm not sure if this was standard on all European cars...

Look like its got the pointless business nav unit too.

Dont think i have ever seen a coupe here with one!

Very nice, white coupes do look good. A few problems though - bit bland on the inside as Taz says, shame it's not red leather ; one serious snow storm and you'll not be able to find it ; be wary of paying too much for a car that you might decide you wished you'd not bought because you really want a roadster. And I'm not trying to start the perennial debate, just offering advice.

As Mark says, there are still hardtops available in Germany - don't know how many, but IIRC they are about €600 which is real cheap compared to when they were first sold, and cheap even compared to second hand examples. Probably cheap as they're in less popular colours like merlot red, Maldives blue and dark blue... So you would need to factor in the cost of a re-spray.

howdy Bing, thanks for your advice, much appreciate it. i agree with everything you've said. i've ended up going for the Titanium Silver Roadster that I posted about in another thread. Hopefully I'll take delivery of her this coming Monday, otherwise when I get back from the US the following week. the 2004 E85 is a good choice for me as i think it will give me more opportunities to modify it a little.

regarding hardtops, i've been scouring the net and you're right, there seem to be a few good deals in Germany. i see there's a BMW garage selling new Maldives Blue hardtop for 550 euros. i'm trying to find out what the cost would be to respray it Titanium Silver, and if i can get a good deal, i'll definitely pull the trigger on one.

thanks again!

Good to hear you have your, Zed. Roadster was the way to go, if you had the itch, it had to be scratched.

Roll on the spring time.
