Longest top down journey ?

I managed almost 11 hours door to door , south west France to Germany , with the top down all the way , got a couple of thumbs up from 2 kids in France at half 3 in the morning as well

My previous car (Marlin self-build) didn't have a roof at all - which is one reason why I eventually swapped I for the Z4. A couple years ago I took the ferry from Portsmouth (or maybe it was Plymouth) to Santander with 4 other cars, and we spent 5 days touring the Picos D'Europ mountains before driving up through France. Fantastic roads, but it rained, and rained. The tonneau filled with water so every time I did a left-hander I got a lap/crotch-full of water. Lovely. Here are a few photos.....

Around 220 miles on a forum run back from Applecross I think. Either that or the return journey back from the National meet might have been longer

Couple of years back now: Northampton to Neuchatel (Switzerland) 30 odd degrees all the way! Red as a beetroot when I got there!

So hot and sunny thro Switzerland that aircon was on full blast at body level. She got the cleavage are well scorched

Well over 12 hours a number of times and over 14 hours leaving around 6 AM and driving into Northern Florida before stopping somewhere for the night on my way to Clearwater, Florida.

Cornwall to Kendal for the 2011 Lakes Meet. What fantastic weather that was. Had the roof down all day for Four days. Had sunburn when we got home. 8)

Also Spa to Cornwall, in 2012, though I did put the roof up on the chunnel.

From Saddleworth to Gibraltor and back via Portugal. I did about 3500 miles and only about an hour was with the top up

best bit was when i came up from Portsmouth to Saddleworth, at points it was chucking down but i just kept going, i just had to do it

I did dordogne to the nurburgring again this year but with a diversion to some random town in Northern Germany to get my crappy old slk re mapped .
Overnighted it with the roof down all the way and the lowest temp I saw on the gauge was 21 degrees at about 4 in the morning , the highest was 45 , jeez it was hot in mainland Europe this summer !

In the planning stage again for the summer again -
Probably the usual Ijmuiden, Montabaur, Staufen but who knows after that ? Switzerland, Italy, Austria ?
We will return and have a few days in NL .

A couple of years ago in a previous car. March time, Manchester to Sunderland return, so about 250 miles. Despite it being March, I was sunburned by the next day!

Around 6 hours constant driving in glorious French sunshine just me and my Z Heaven sadly the next day I had a 7.5 hour drive in heavy rain was glad to reach my hotel and sink a cool beer
