Locking Wheel Nut Key

Evening,

Age old issue, took my car for a couple of minor service issues and the garage say they can't find the locking wheel nut key. In fairness I popped by after work and it was nowhere to be seen in the car. I may be wrong, but I am damn sure it was in there.

There are a couple of peeps at work with BMWs of similar age and spec, are locking keys all the same? or is there a selection of different ones to prevent thieves nicking lots of wheels with one key?

seems a stupid question but thought i'd check.

thanks

Take the car to a friendly dealer if you don't have the key number. They will have a box full of them, they can then go through one by one till they find one that fits :P Did it on my Focus. I ended up purchasing a whole set off them for £30 quid though so...

My local dealership is usually useless but I asked about a spare locking key, fella came out and was good as gold. £12 later I got the nut through next day
