Locking - one click or two?

Getting used to the car that I got last month.

Manual says that a single click of the lock button will lock the car and the indicators will flash once. If I want to disable the interior sensors, I press the lock button twice and the indicators will "light up briefly and then flash continuously" (I presume they will stop at some point!). Tried this last night and the indicators flash ok on standard locking, but they don't flash continuously on the double press.

Just wondering if something is amiss if for any reason I wanted to lock the car without the interior sensors being activated.
 
You can programme a lot of locking option by car and individual key. Here's mine on an '03 model

Hi, I think it means the alarm indicator, located in the underside of the rear view mirror.

Doh!

Spot on Stuart.

I thought it meant the turn signals. Checked it this morning and you are right - the red light behaves the way the manual describes when locking.

Will have a look at the key coding thing too cj10jeeper . Looks interesting.
 
Yes - you can really customise things with a bit of thought, so if 2 people have keys seats can move to their setting on unlock,.one can have lock on drive off, the other not, etc., etc.

Used to be only BMW but many Indys can do it (and more) these days
