Lockdown car dreaming

Arrrgh what is it with lockdown, working from home, and looking at cars!

I had an E85 3.0i. it wasnt getting used, so i sold it in May of last year, and dropped down to a single car (for the first time in about 8 years). And the situation hasnt changed. if i did buy a second car, it would just sit there on the driveway, not being used... but... cant stop looking at cars!

seen this on ebay, and it looks really really nice. but i really dont need a second car, especially right now!

but... even if i bought it and sorned it immediately, the sense of pride at just owning such a gorgeous car, and it'll probably hold its value too. and then when we are allowed out again, it would be epic...

i know it must be tough as there will be a lot of zeds out there just sitting unused on the driveway, but would it be wrong to buy a car, knowing it will just sit unused on the driveway!?!
 
We only get one ride in this rollercoaster. If you want it, buy it :thumbsup:
 
Summer is just around the corner.

Buy it now before it gets the "summer tax".

I am buying a car (pending an RAC inspection) this weekend. It will sit on my drive not being used very much but it will be mine!

It’ll give you something nice to look at even if you can’t drive it straight away.

Re the car you’ve linked, it’s been up for sale quite a few times. They guy seems to be trading quite a few Z4’s recently. This one keeps failing to meet the reserve. He also has/had a 2.5 Si for sale at the same time
 
Life too short to worry about how many miles you do in them, its just as much about enjoying the ownership experience :thumbsup:

As Argyll Andy as already said, he's had it up on eBay quite a few times, pretty sure the reserve is £6k as a couple of weeks ago it did hit the reserve and to my surprise it's back up. You never know he might of lowered his reserve, I've been quite tempted myself as it's not far from me, but I really want something which isn't black on black.
 
hmmm interesting... i reckon thats worth £6k. black on black suits me ok, as long as its got silver wheels (black on black on black is a bit much IMO)

hmmm again. maybe i'll keep dreaming for a month... if its still for sale when the 'stay at home' order ends, i wonder if i could persuade the wife.

On the other hand, a 130i would probably be a better bet for us in that it would actually be a car my wife would use, but still with the same 3 litre engine and a manual gearbox... but a black z4 with black sports seats just polishes up so nice! 8)

To be fair, the way some 3lt si sports have been priced up recently, this is actually a very good price at £6k, even with the mileage just slightly above 100k.

Completely agree with the silver wheels comment as well, if this had red leather though..... :driving:
 
ha well if someone else buys it before i do, that saves me fretting over it! granted the higher mileage might put some people off, but its got a good MOT history, and no mileage discrepancies

if i bought one it'd only do 2-3k a year, so a slightly higher mileage to start with doesn't bother me as much as it might if i was planning on doing 12k a year in it.

This! :driving: Having two vehicles, the Z4 is my daily driver. Why save the fun car for weekends?

For the original poster, you'll likely want to customize something about the car when you get it, so get it before summer and get those customizations sorted. :thumbsup:
