Location of footwell storage net

I've brought a storage net and went to fit it tonight and was surprised to learn that if I follow the photos online of this product installed online, the location for the net seems to be down at passenger feet!!


Not much use there. It would also constantly get kicked. Is this correct?

I was wondering if anyone has fitted up next to the seat, where the carpet gets flatter again, here...

But then does the seat foul it?

I was hoping to maybe fit two of these and have one on the drivers side too...

Your Passenger Cargo Net should be placed forward some.
I own a car that has them per factory order.

There is not and never has been one in the drivers area. Lest not in mine.

Pic is of the passenger tho on the other side as mine is American, ie, passenger on your side. Should help for install.

d3matt - your first pic looks about where mine is (factory fitted), so the instructions must be correct. You're right, it is a bit of a silly place, and mine hardly ever gets used.

As per your first photo, maybe even a couple of inches backwards.

I've never used my net at all.

I can't imagine why anyone would want storage there. More tat on display, in the way of feet and can't be readily reached.

For extra storage a second box under the drivers seat works perfectly. Holds lots, accessible and out of sight

I tried to move my net from the passenger to the driver side as I could never reach it from a seated position without taking my belt off. I pulled it out but then had big nasty holes in my carpet where it was now missing so I put it back on. It would be so much better on the driver side as I only use it for cd's probably only thing that fits. Its much more practical on drivers side I think

This is the way forward, buy a second first aid box and fit it under your seat, I've had one fitted on both my Zeds!

Why buy a second just use the one under the passenger seat and take out all the old plasters and bandages you'll probably never use. I've had these in 5 bmw now and never used any and half of it is out of date anyway needs chucking if you look on dates

is there space for it to fit under the driver seat?

I use mine for a small umbrella. I literally never see it as it's the other side of the console and I don't take the car out when it's wet lol!

Yeah fits under the basic SE seats and even the heated memory //M seats (although was a bit harder to get in to fit it with the latter) I prefer use both as extra storage as the old first aid kit supplies are overkill anyway but I like the one under the drivers seat for my sunnies as they are easy to get at when driving no leaning over just pull out and stick em on my face if i come over a hill and have the sun in my eyes...

And IIRC I only paid £25 + shipping for my second one so on a car like the Z where storage space is very limited its a no brainer to add some very useful extra storage at such a low price

Small umbrella and ice scraper in mine.
Sunnies go......in the sunnies holder! (oooo, u roadster owners miss out there ).
Extra storage box under drivers seat no good for me, there's s fire extinguisher in the way (which, granted, will probably get as much use as the first aid kit!).

Thanks for all the posts.
I've fitted the net this evening and put it on the drivers side, where the sidewall indents in.


I've now fitted an aux cable on the radio, so wanted somewhere to keep my mobile while it was wired up to both the aux port and the cigarette lighter. Seems the net located there is just perfect.
I'm going to buy another net for the other side now too.

Mines drivers side just around where you've put it
I use mine all the time for drinks aa reason I bought it
