My Local Garage wants £320 to change the Oil and fit lower wishbones, They said it will take 4 hours to do the whole job
I will be supplying the oil and filter, Does it sound ok?

It wouldn't take me that long on axle stands, they're charging at least double the time needed.
Price isn't too bad if they are supplying the entire wishbones' as that's £200 in parts, assuming they don't fit cheap crap.

So not fitting lower wishbones, just the brake reaction bushings or 'lollipops'. For £200 you can get both wishbones, if you're paying someone to do the job then that's the better option.

Easy job for a pro, an hours work realistically, definitely not more than 1.5.
With your quoted times and prices they are charging £ 56 an hour and are at least £125-150 too expensive.

But if you can't do it yourself you are at the mercy of any quotes you get.

Yup, I did my "lollipops" in around an hour, and that included pressing the old bushes from the holders and new ones in - Meyle HD, total cost less than £21... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221631383837?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I presume the extra cost is for the lube, as in when the guy bends you over :!:

On a serious note, even if you are useless with the spanners, replacing the whole housings is a piece of pee... Cost would be around £50-£60, all you need is axle stands, a couple of sockets and some fairy liquid...

Doing the entire arm should be easier. I needed a sledgehammer though, go figure

Get some tools and DIY :)
