Little extra TLC

Presently going over a full detailing job while the car is stored for winter. Just wanted to share a few extra steps I like to take before polishing:

Cover various parts with garbage bags as I go around, avoiding small polish "sling" coming off the pad at higher speeds. Removed antenna (arial) and windscreen washer jets in order to maintain uniform movement, speed and pressure with the polisher, instead of going around.

Tilt mirors and remove side badges, again, nice uniform pass with the polisher:

Tape all non painted pieces to avoid accidently polishing the edges. Remove license plate and frame for more uniform polishing action:

All the pieces removed will stay off until the final top coat of wax is buffed, enabling a consistent front to back motion without interference (just as Doctor Ducks ordered!)

Remove front grills and gently clean bugs off radiator and all other surfaces. Wash all visible areas behind grill by hand:

Clean and polish both grills inside/out before installing:

Takes a bit more time...but she's worth it! :D

Attention to detail thats what its all about

Look forward to updates

Notice you have the bumper plugs on the door and boot lid what are your views on quality and fit.

Holy crap! I'm impressed with myself when I get the energy together to sponge wash my car and even then I sometimes do it in the rain so rinsing is easier!

Very happy with the color match. Had to slightly shave some of the plastic shaft with an exacto knife (plugs not molded specifically to all vehicles) but they mentioned it beforehand, so it was no big deal. Got a nice snug fit. Gives a look of great attention to detail. Bumperplugs.com offer 1st class products and workmanship. Special process used in painting all plugs to BMW color codes.

Yes, they are the same size. I ordered only two since my car doesn't have a passenger key lock. Simply scroll down when you access their home site to find the lock plugs. Cheers!
