Husband been watching YT videos on the Z4, says to use lithium grease for the roof mechanism. Is that correct and if not then what else is there? And TY!

Don't need to lubricate roof hinges; they are polybushed!
Are they?
Look more like a rolled copper or phospher bronze.
Ah, when Pondy said 'poly' bushed he was just parroting something he heard someone else say.

Many thanks! Now off to try and track down stuff for the rubber seals.. my German is non existent.
Any silicone-based stuff is good. Doesn't need to be expensive Gummi Pflege.
I use Autoglym vinyl & rubber care spray from Halfords. Works just as well and is easier to apply from what I've heard.

First if the rubber is faded or chalky i paint on Triplewax Tyre Shine.
Be careful it softens plastic. So don't spray on use a small brush.
Then when rubbed over and dry i use Triplewax bumper spray.
Also good to stop squeaks on roof or cabin panel gaps.
Then weekly i use some cheap Lidl beeswax polish.

The only place that I know that you should grease on the roof are the two latches on top of the windshield frame. When I got my car the roof made a horrible clanging noise when the first roof panel latched to that frame. A bit of lithium grease in the latches and it’s been quiet since.
