Likely silly question

Spent hours on a decent clean yesterday. Wash, clay, polish, PB BH, waxed. These marks will not come off. Now I've taken the pics it looks worryingly like the actual paint is damaged :(. Does anyone know what it is, and if I can correct it? It looks like sherbet and is rough to the touch, somewhat bizarely it's only on the driver's side. Thanks.
 
Looks like road rash to me. Either respray, or wet sand and polish, or there is a method of wiping on a paint & lacquer mix, letting it dry, then polishing (there is a post on Detailing World, let me look)

Thanks. Not buffing out then :D . I may indeed have a go at it myself, thanks for the link markeg. My nose is covered in stone chips and what looks like poor 'smart' repairs from previous owners so that is going to need a respray to correct. The worst part of cleaning the car properly, discovering all the blemishes :thumbsdown:
