Took my Vito van for its MOT today.....it failed on a broken nearside front spring!!!! This was the first time I have not checked any of my vehicles prior to the test, the reason being that my sons MX5 turbo is sitting on axle stands over my pit and my my Z4MC is sitting on axle stands and trolley jacks awaiting new Eibachs due to a broken spring!!
I've never experienced broken springs on any of my vehicles before now I've got 2 within a week.
Must be a German thing :headbang:

had 2!! broken springs on my old Volvo V40 classic a couple years ago. wasn't that low after failure, but the sound when turning the steering wheel was horrible!

(& now got a broken spring on my Z4 too)

That'll be the shocking quality of our roads...any politician who says they'll prioritise fixing them will have my vote!

Agree with this - Preston is dreadful, unless you are on an A road most of your concentration goes on avoiding slamming your suspension down a pot hole :headbang:

Those are not pot holes, they are natural traffic calming schemes that have been implemented at random locations ....

Don't start me on the 'planned' traffic calming systems. Speed humps that you need to crawl over unless you're in a 4 by 4. Two way streets that suddenly and for no reason narrow to a single lane and give priority to oncoming traffic and then repeat every 200 yards only this time you have right-of-way, then they plonk a bus stop between the two causing jams in both directions :headbang:

Ha, what grinds my gears is the insistence of prioritising bloody bus lanes. I wish they'd accept and realise that the people who go to work, pay taxes and contribute to the running of this country drive cars and vans and they need to get to where they're going quicker than the students and OAP's on the bloody bus..!
