Light Control Switch / Module / Unit Question

Hi all

Apparently (been told by bmw) that my Light Control Module is what is causing the bulb out indicator light on the dash to iluminate even though have checked all lights and functioning as they should.

My question is the light switch i have is does not have the automatic driving lights control on it. If I got one with this would it work?

It probably would work but would need to be coded. The automatic function would not though due to sensors being missing etc.

I agree with srhutch. Furthermore, any replacement light module may need to be coded, even if exactly the right unit. The module serves as backup storage for odometer and service interval data. It's hard to believe this data would be transferred automatically to a replacement module without some sort of diagnostic computer intervention.
