Light Control Module

Could somebody point me in the direction of the LCM please.
No idea where it's located and need to find it.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

quite random.... but its the behind / part of the switch panel which allows you to turn your headlights on.

Need to remove your dash trim first then see a couple of phillips screws to remove it.... its pretty big too!

Thanks for the responses.
This follows on from my sidelight post in the problems section earlier in the week.
Having checked today, no voltage to the bulb holder so that would explain why there's no light!
Is it likely a fault with the LCM would take out just one sidelight or is there something more basic I've missed?
I can't see any obvious corrosion or damage at the bulb holder and I'm not convinced it's a wiring fault as everything was fine on the way to work but the bulb out warning light was on immediately after starting the car for the journey home.
Obviously I'd prefer to sort this myself if possible but I've just read a few posts about the other items the LCM controls which has made me nervous.
Looks like, if it is the LCM that needs replacing, I'm up for a trip to the dealers or would an Indie be cheaper?
Any advice or information still much appreciated.

Andy

I certainly wouldn't go prodding around with the LCM for a bulb out issue. It's more of a sophisticated circuit board than anything so I'd be tracking back wires to the source until I got my 12v supply. Failing that run a diagnostic tool in the OBD2 port to look for some fault codes.

New LCM will make you weep

Thanks cj10jeeper,
Can you, or anybody else, recommend an OBD2 reader which would be suitable.
There's a fair few on ebay for example but don't want to buy something which isn't suitable or spend more than I have to.
Also, having seen the price of an LCM I'm really hoping it isn't that!!

I did see that but looks like it only works with 4th Gen iPod touch......
which counts me out!!

Just a quick update if anyone is interested.
Took the car to the local Indy yesterday who diagnosed it as the LCM unfortunately.
They're allowing me to source the part elsewhere and they'll then fit and code it.
I also asked if, while they had their box of tricks connected for diagnosis, it was possible to program one touch close on the passenger side window. They've done that for me and didn't charge. A big thumbs up for Gloucester BMW SPecialists.
Regulars on here will guess what's coming next - another big thumbs up for Joe at sopers.
First time of dealing with the guy and he was extremely helpful plus cheapest of the three places I tried for the part even with postage added on.
Anyway, fingers crossed this fixes the problem - I'm fed up of seeing the warning light on the dashboard!
The only saving grace is that it's only taken out a sidelight so I can still drive my Zed. :driving:

Try to make some proper removing so that the condition of its control will have a good set-up. If you have worked on this, you must check how the module working. Then, it would be better if you support that kind of control module.
