lighbulbs - I cant see!

Hi all,

What do you think of these bulbs? Halfords are currently doing 2 for 1 so doesn't seem too steep if the sales shpeel is right.

I need them for a 2006 Coupe with halogen lights. I know they are poor anyhow and I will do an HID upgrade at some point but my current bulbs are so pants driving at night on the country roads round my way feels incredibly risky. I need a quick fix for this winter.

Looking forward to your thoughts. Also if you can recommend others, I'd appreciate it. :thumbsup:
 
Don't know about the bulbs but pay the extra for them to fit & then go for a cappuccino while they struggle :P then
 
Na, I can fit them myself and would rather not have someone else fiddling with my car, especially a halfords employee (no offence meant but I've seen some pretty poor bulb fitting in my time). :thumbsdown:

Just wondered if these would be a good buy. They've got to be better than what I've got now.
 
There are other options - read the reviews and these don't seem worth anywhere near the price.

In Halfords they have numerous options - the one I bought cost me about £20 and seems better than normal - I'd call in and see what's on offer and then see if you can get it cheaper on the 'net.

The best bulbs I've ever tried are osram nightbreaker plus. Google them they have an excellent reputation and are cheap enough on the bay.
 
Changing the bulbs will have little effect, will just make the already illuminated area brighter.

what you need to do is adjust your headlights up by one or two complete turns of the adjuster. Search through here and you will see it is what most end up doing to see more than 6 feet ahead.
 
Read the reviews on the Halfords page - don't sound good, especially for that money.
Anothe vote for the nightbreakers. I use them on my XF as flash to pass lights and to supplement the xenons.

I agree some reviews sound poor but others seem good and two bulbs for £40 doesn't seem too bad. Will definitely check out the nightbreakers however as I've heard of these before but forgot about them.

that's sort of what I need. The illuminated area at the moment looks like its been lit up buy two oil lanterns. I need something to make that area brighter. I may also try your suggestion of moving the adjuster however. I'll try small turns at a time so that I don't risk blinding other drivers.

On a completely different note, going to see a friend on the weekend and not only do I get to drive the awesome A272 (wincheter to peterfield), such a good road, but when I get there we'll have a mini BMW meet!

going to take the DSLR and get some nice shots. If they work out well I'll pop them up here.
 
i can recommend osram night breakers too
euro carparts were selling them 2 for £17.99 recently which was half price ,make sure you refit the rear cover on the headlight correctly not like me i ended up with condensation in one of the headlights which took ages to resolve .,

Drive and meet sounds great.
£40!for a pair of halogen bulbs is a ridiculous price. High end halogens should be no more than £15-£20
 
So after looking around I can get these delivered tomorrow if I buy before 7pm tonight. What do you think?

Looks like a much better deal to me :)

Fit them then as others have said adjust the lights up slightly.

To set expectation - don't expect oem xenon light performance or even aftermarket HID
