Lifting jack + tyre pump standard equip? (Coupe w. runflat)

When I bought my Coupe (secondhand) it came without a jack, wheelbrace or pump. I do have the locking wheel nut key, towing eye, triangle, first aid kit etc. tho.

Incidentally the car is fitted with runflats.

Would you kindly let me know whether you think the car should have had a jack as standard and if so whether it is a scissor jack (parallelogram with a screw from one corner to opposite corner) or the more common BMW item which is two arms which spread apart as you lift.

I'm guessing with runflats you don't get a pump or goo but I can't believe that you wouldn't get a jack or wheelbrace....

Thx.

What seanodwyer, said. If you want one, can only assume in case you have a spare somewhere, then the E46 jack fits perfectly. Should be plenty on eBay, although I only ever carry mine with the space saver.

The Z4 does not come supplied with a jack and brace, it is supplied with runflats and no spare wheel they are deemed a non requirement, bear in mind that a scissor jack (if one had been supplied) is only ever recommended for emergency wheel change and should not be "trusted" to carry out any other work on a car. Personally I agree with them as it encourages the purchase of a a good trolly jack and axle stands for doing any thing which requires the car to be raised.

BTW , Welcome to the forum

Thanks for the welcomes & the help guys that's useful to hear. Somehow I feel a bit helpless without a jack!

I'm actually just trying to sell an E46 but I can't bring myself to keep the jack....

There seem to be loads of Mini jacks on ebay which look pretty similar to the E46 item and come in a nice bag - or tray with the compressor.

Point taken on the trolley jack - I do hate using the OE items!
