Searched out my local Lidl today and managed to bag the very last one they had in the store for £14.99.

Being relatively rubbish at all things electircial on cars, whats the best step by step way to get this trickle charging /Molly? And do I need to leave her unlocked with the boot slightly open in order to charge (or am I being stupid and missing a really obvious thing?)

Just a basic how-to so I dont blow my face off would be great!

is that the one that charges through the cigarette lighter socket ? on a motorcycle i had a permanent connection on the battery so it conected via a socket so no need for crocodile clips, good deal at lidl, the one with my airchamber was over 39 quid,

i have a charger left in the boot, i have a permanent connection onto the battery, i just drop the mains cable into the boot and close it, if the mains cable is not too big it will not be damaged by the boot lid

The "proper" charge points are under the bonnet.

but if you want to leave a charger on its easier to fit it in the boot, direct onto the battery

but the manual says "Always charge your battery using connections in engine compartment "

:)

surely the connections under the bonnet are the same connections as those in the boot

Not quite - there is something in between that regulates voltage of some sort. Exactly what, I don't know but the idea of charging directly against the battery was described as being wrong.

No they are not. The ones under the bonnet are supressed so there is no chance of spiking the electronics.
A low voltage trickle charger should be ok but why risk it :|

My creek is connected directly to the battery. I can't get to the bonnet in the garage.

The thin leads connecting to the battery easily pass over the boot seal when closed.

confused, if the connections under the bonnet do not connect to the battery then how does the charger charge the battery??????????????

First question - can you get to the bonnet? If so, end of discussion really ...

Easier than getting to the boot. Car is parked front end in the garage and near the sockets.
