Lewis Hamilton - A weekend to forget

Whats everyones views on it. 2 incidents with Massa and Maldonado and 2 penalties.

I have studied the footage and yes both incidents were avoidable but there was a narrow gap on both occasions but a gap all the same. I think he was well within his rights to go for it and should be put down to pure racing incident.

I think motor racing is being wrapped up in too much cotton wool and runs the risk of becoming too sterile and processional

The "is it because I am black" comment though.....the scumbag media will have a fieldday.

Congrats to Vettel though I think it would have been Button without the Massa red flag :-)

One of the things that I love about Lewis is his gun ho attitude, which is very exciting to watch, however this sometimes borders on recklessness, Sunday was certainly getting close to that and caused primarily by the frustration of Saturdays qualifying disaster. For me Martin surmised succinctly that Lewis just blames everyone else when it goes wrong, certainly at this weekend McLaren made some errors in judgement, but as a driver he must take some responsibility, if he didn't believe that a 1 shot qualifying was the right decision, then don't do it, if he did agree then don't blame the team.

In some ways I do prefer Jenson, he certainly thinks about the racing, but not that exciting to watch, you only new that he was driving quickly when they told you of fastest lap after fastest lap (something they didn't mention during the coverage was that after the restart Seb and Alonso were both on the option tyre, Jenson was on prime and he was still quicker than them) and yes he was oh so unlucky, but if's happen, usually at Monaco.

They say great drivers make their own luck, no doubt about it that Seb is a great driver, more mature than Lewis but less aggressive. Without doubt though, yesterday lady luck was certainly looking out for him, wrong tyres that turned out to be the right ones and a red flag just in the nick of time before they fell over that imaginary cliff.

I think Massa was to blame for the first incident: Hamilton and Schumacher had shown previously that a pass could be made there cleanly. Massa just had brain fade (and again in the tunnel) so it was his own fault that he crashed imo.

The Maldonado one, maybe 60/40 to Lewis, he wasn't far enough along side to claim the corner imo, but he was within his rights to give it a go.

Loved the rant and forum aftwards, Eddie's third Dunking was hilarious!

In the good old days when Senna drove like this with Mansell it was called racing!!! Same thing is happening with Moto GP with the likes of Stoner (the moaner) and Simoncelli .... Motorsport is getting a bit boring at the mo... Not even going to talk about the state of the rallying!!

Don't think you can blame Hamilton for the Massa incident when they didn't even touch in the tunnel. Not so sure of the other one though.

Massa needs to take up chess, or snooker or something... the guy just can't stop complaining since he lost his edge and he'd have them all in bumper cars if he had it his way.

Is it possible that Lewis has some detractors in the ranks of the Officials ?....

May be someone doesn't want him to spoil the established plan for the year....

After racing F1 many years now, Lewis Hamilton is still immature.

I always support Jenson Button.

I only like him because his Gf is the hottest thing at the track ...... and I don't like Webber or Vettel.

Schumacher ????? He drives like an Ass !! IMO he's more agressive and dangerous then Webber or Hamilton.

Vettel is just lucky there was a magic yellow flag at the right time or his tires would have fallen off.

Anyone watch the Indy 500 on sunday? Rookie mistake on the last corner of the last lap and lost the race..... :(

Quote Gannet.."Lewis is a racer - and so he should be it is supposed to be a race... "

Zactly....

Forgive me if I get confused a bit, I was up at 6am to watch the Monaco, then 10am to 2pm for the Indy 500 then 5pm to 9pm for the Coca Cola 600 (Nascar). Some time in between I clayed and waxed my Zed....I think it was sunday ?.... it's all a blur

The 'nanny state' is now taking over F1! Too much interference by the stewards again!! :headbang:

And whats this cobblers excuse for penalising a driver "for causing an avoidable accident"

Some bad presedents are being set imo, soon you wont be able to overtake at all!
