Well phones Sytner and statestone about securing build.

However, Stratsone want £200 deposit and Sytner wants £1,000 - both refundable

Seriously

£200 for front of the list? And you can change your mind and get the deposit back,I d say that's spot on.

Looks like I call stratestone and give them £200 deposit tomorrow and get my name on the list, first name on their allocation.

Can not say it will be Z4 30i or Z4 40i, as no models been given - only securing build allocation

I've done this twice with new Mini and suffered 'new model blues' both times with re-calls for "reliability upgrades" and missing out on improvements that were identified by us early adopters when facelifts come out. Also you are right, although the drive is unlikely to be "rubbish", until you test drive the actual model with the engine wheel spec you are considering you literally have no idea how it drives. I wouldn't do it again personally.

That all sounds a bit of a bargin to me , have spoken with dealer about forthcoming Boxster 718 GTS apparently due to be annoucced at detroit in november , all he can tell me is that uk deliveries wont start till march and if I want my name on queue its a 3k refundable deposit , at the time I spoke to him I would be 2nd in queue
