Lets see your Watches

I've not worn a watch since I was a kid. (Casio calculator)
Never being one of the cool kids and failing miserably at persuading my parents that I needed a raleigh chopper in my life, one day I was looking through a national geographic magazine and there was an advert for a black calculator watch from casio! (1978?) It was the coolest thing I'd ever seen, a watch that was a calculator and also played a game! The ability to solve complicated mathematical problems wherever and cheat in exams! The gods must of been smiling on me, Christmas morning a small parcel from my aunt and uncle... a black casio calculator watch! Never got the chopper though 😪

Is there a link there between not being one of the cool kids and reading national geographic magazine?

I too was not one of the cool kids nor was I one of the popular ones. That did change fractionally one day when I was being picked on and in self-defense I took a swing and broke someone's nose.

I never lusted after a Raleigh chopper however I did want a scalextric and a particular technic Lego set.

Born in 77 as a child I grew up in peak Argos catalogue days. This was the Bible when it came to birthday and christmas lists. There was one page top to bottom with various different sizes and scales of scalextric, naturally I wanted the longest most expensive one. The one I ended up with was the one I least wanted the basic figure of eight.

Living in knaresborough we were just down the road from mother shipton's cave. We visited there one day, they have a wishing well, I distinctly remember making a wish for this technic LEGO JCB.

I never got it until a few years ago I bought it myself second-hand used of eBay

Fashion wise I've never been on point however whilst at school I did manage to convince my parents to get me a set of Adidas torsion trainers and one of those giant ski jackets. Another fashion statement back in the day included shellsuits.

I loved my Explorer but no matter how I tried to keep it looking pristine, the bezel always ended up getting scratched and scuffed. In the end I sold it

I only wear mine once a fortnight or so and am fairly careful with it, so it’s held up well enough so far.

I need to slim down my collection a little - I've got a Seiko Prospex diver 1968 Reinterperetation that I've barely worn in 4 years since I bought it new. I'll happily start a for sale thread if needs be but thought it'd be worth posting in here, hopefully I'll not upset anyone...!

Immaculate except from some very light marks on the clasp from where it's contacted the desk as I've typed in the office. I've literally worn it a dozen times tops. Comes with box papers warranty card and the tool to remove links.

These are selling for a grand new - I'm after £500 ono., and can deliver within reason around Ashbourne/derby area, or Frimley area in August when I'm next down for work.
