Hi there i have had my Z4MR since july and i just had the erdge to take it to europe so was looking around as i always wanted to see the LEMANS 24hr so i booked it camping from thursday to monday with race ticket for 2 £190 and the speed ferry return for £72 not bad really.

now my question is i here a lot of car clubs go over, ihave a friend who is going with porsche

does anybody know of any bmw owners club going?

thanks

We were going to skip this (and we have tickets to the N24 instead), but a mate offered me a camping pass in Houx the other day, so I'm thinking I'll take him up on the offer and do a last minute trip over... :D

I think you find a lot of people do get together and head over in convoys etc. I'd be very surprised if the BMW Club GB aren't organising groups of people together.... may be worth contacting your local region to find out?

I'll be going again, convoy last time included 3x F40s  ... its my favorite event of the year :driving:

Go every year its a great weekend lovely drive down and with the new road a lot quicker.

Watch out for speed traps no points but on the spot fines you should not be to bad on the Thursday.

We normally camp on Bleu Nord but have a Motel this year not far from Arnage

When you book in future book direct with the circuit for camping a lot cheaper and you can buy entry tickets on the day but you were lucky to get camping this late if we get the weather its a superb weekend.

Recomend Gace for Fri lunch we will stop on route but its not far from Le-Mans if you fancy a drive check pics below.

yeah i'm camping in bleu thanks for the advice i'm sure i'll end up tagging along with a few people a friend of mine has been a lot of times and

said the people are fantastic and will find lots of people wanting to talk cars.

the pics look great i'm really looking forward to going through villages with all the cars and being able to stop and be a part of it all, will take loys of pics :driving:

You'll have a great time

We used to drive down on the N138 that takes you through loads of small towns a nice run but we now use the toll road much quicker

There is normally an English burger van on that site well handy for a mug of tea and its open non stop all weekend

As for Le-Mans Fri night in Arnage is OK last 2 years been a lot tamer as the local plod have calmed it down not all the burn outs you used to get but its nice to sit outside the bars and watch all the lovely cars cruising pass.

We normally head for Le-Mans now catch the end of the parade then a few beers in one of the old squares and then a meal and head back to Arnage around 10 to finish the night avoid the Harlequin bar around a fiver a pint just across the road is cheaper or if you fancy a cheaper beer and table service Le Pom bar at the level crossing is nice.

Have a good one mate and lets pray for the nice hot weather that you normally get at Le-Mans

Le Mans rocks !

Not going this year though as after 7 straight years we fancied a change.

If you want to hook up with people, join http://www.beermountain.com it's a great forum with a beer meet and plenty of advice. Hope it stays sunny this year

Old vid for fun

Le Mans -mmm - Ces't fantastic - missing it this year :headbang: - although did the last 6 :D 60,000 Brits they reckon - 'Le Mans Radio' - and Beer Mountain  I recall the Ferry Captain on the P.A , just before we sailed from Portsmouth saying something to the effect that they had added up the value of the Cars on Board and they were worth more than the Boat :o - There were a few Blower Bentley's and Aston's on board :D Watch out for the Caterhams - they travel in packs! TVR's abound - normally brewing up :driving:

Great fun - enjoy - but do watch for 'Le Fick' it's high season for them - passing out tickets like confetti
