Left wrist hurts

Hello,

Does your left wrist ever hurt after driving the z4 for a long time? I notice that unless I put my left hand on top, and drive with it in that position, then the lower inside corner of my wrist hurts. Does this happen to anyone else? Have you solved it? Do you know why that would happen? It's so strange.

Thanks,
Cory

Probably because you have the steering wheel on the wrong side. The left hand is designed for gear shifting

inside corner refers to thumb side? De quervain's tenosynovitis maybe?

It's not my thumb side, it's the other side. So no one seriously has this problem? This kind of worries me.

Let me guess, you also use the mouse with your left hand, and you use the computer A LOT for mouse as well as typing ?

Could be an inflammation on your left hand wrist due to wear & strain from various activites combined. . . (and not excluding whatever activity enfield seems to suggest :P :poke: )

If you're also a heavy left handed computer user, it's time to switch mouse hand. Takes a while to to train the other, and feels completely unnatural in the beginning, but after a while it's like it always was like this. An added plus is that now you can use both left & right handed computer setups no prob :D

When you are having this problem do you put your elbow on the window sill or the door sill? If you put it on the widow (as I have noticed). My wrist bends at an odd angle when I am trying to drive and this could cause the soreness. I have heard good things about the LeatherZ pad replacements (supposed to make the padding taller to eliminate this problem) although I don't have them so I cannot personally attest to this.

I am right handed so I use my right hand on the mouse. That's not it.

For some reason it only has to do with the car. And it's in both positions. both up on the window and down on the arm rest. When I drive with my hand on top of the steering wheel, no problem. It gets tiring having it up there all the time through. Like yesterday I was tired, so I had my arm on the door and was drving like that, trying to be conscious not to put it in a weird position, and today it's hurting really bad. I will look into that arm pad thing you mentioned.

Any other ideas?
