Leaving my beloved behind..

It was a painful experience to drive away from my beloved Z4 this morning

But after nearly a year together and some great times and experiences we shared I just couldnt justify using her any longer with the 108's in such shocking condition

I bet i had you going for a second there didnt I :P

I can safely say I wont be selling the car until absolutely nessesary! However since i bought her in July last year, complete with appaling 108's, i have ummed and arred about whether to get them refurbed and that leads to who do i let refurb them or swap them for a set of 19" CSL reps, a few weeks ago i decided on the former and after Leon on here couldnt sort a set out for me in the time i needed them, I set about finding a reputable company who will refurb them properly, as in tyres off/wheels split/blasted/repaired/painted/re assembled, I finally settled on Wheel Repair Centre in Preston who quoted me an acceptable price for a proper job, i went to see them just to check them out before i commited and lo and behold what should be parked in the unit .... only another Z4 coupe with 108's they were refurbing for a BMW main agent! So that settled my mind and the car was booked in and dropped off this morning

I should have her back thurs/fri with minty fresh 108's with my summer tyres fitted, i shall update with pics once i have her home :D

Good stuff, where abouts in Preston did you find? Live nowhere near any more but it is hometown for me and I know a few body shops etc round there.

Haha really, well it's actually in Bamber Bridge, on the Old Mill industrial estate on School Lane

They refurbish wheels for William Loughran if you remember them, http://www.williamloughran.co.uk/ , which is in Walmer Bridge but still Preston, they must be good if they're refurbing wheels attched to the caliber of cars he sells!

Yes I remember that guy ... If I'm right he started big time by putting his name down for a Ferrari in the knowledge he could make a killing by gazumping the waiting list, and made it from there onwards. Amazing cars there ... So yes I'd agree you can't go wrong there.

Mine were refurbed in bristol by the prev' owner at around 380 ish which is top end last year and already there a few corrosion bubbles in the centre ... Not impressed.

Did he really I never knew that! You learn something new everyday!

Oh no way! Ill bet youre not impressed

I'm paying in the upper end of the prices i have seen banded around on here and elsewhere, but i'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for so i'm really hoping they'll be spot on and stay mint for a long time. I'm going for a bright silver edge in favour of diamond cut with OEM silver centres, and they'll be regularly removed and sealed to protect them.
