I think I would find it easier to justify trading in my 3.0si on an ///M with the leather hoops than to shell out that kind of cash as an ad-on ...

they don't come standar on the M either;

I'll pass on the leather roll hops for that kind of money...
However, would be interested in having my roll hoops painted to match the color of the car.
Has anybody done this? How much would something like this cost in the US and how involve is it?

That might look really good...
Others have painted them black (like on the M roady) don't know of anyone that has colour matched.

You'd have to buy new plastic covers, ....the tabs break taking them off.

I have been looking for a way to cover my roll hoops and one of the ideas I had was to used leather handlebar tape like what is used on motorcycles. The corners would be a problem I have not figured out how to wrap. Just a thought... :?

I love the look of the leather covered roll bars. This company offers leather roll bar covers for listed for 296.00 € (~$438 US) http://www.auco.de/bmw_bmw+z4_ausse...eberrollbuegel_00003_00068_00005_115_221.html. I have an `04 with black extended leather and I hate the cheap silver/grey plastic roll bar covers. I've considered painting but this has caught my interest.
