LCM trouble probably

Just following on from my initial post here https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=128017 & wondered if anyone has heard of or used these guys http://www.clusterrepairsuk.co.uk/? It seems they can repair most if the electronics in the dashboard including the LCM http://www.clusterrepairsuk.co.uk/repair/model/bmw-e46-3-series-lcmlkm-repair-service. I know this is for an e46 but it looks pretty much the same as the Zed one.

I'm still waiting to hear back from my local BMW indy & wondered whether to jump straight in & send it off to these guys? Any thoughts?

Did you speak/send to the cluster repair guys? I myself am having similar issues and was looking for someone that can repair these modules.

I never did manage to get a response from them. Tried calling several times, no answer so I sent them email & haven't had a reply  . It's booked in with my local BMW indy now but I've got to wait until 5th May unfortunately :(.

I was unable to get in contact with that company but have subsequently found another company that may be able to repair the unit, just sent off today, may be lucky enough to get it back prior to end of week, will update to see if they can fix/resolve the issue.

My unit was beyond repair so I have sourced a used Lcm and that has corrected the issues I was having. (headlights always on dipped beam regardless of switch position, no indicators/hazards, no sidelights, no full beam). I just need to get it coded to match my vehicle.

Well at least you know it's doable & hopefully you have someone local that can code it for you.

I took my zed to BMWMAN & they had it on test for 2 days & couldn't replicate the "headlights always on dipped beam regardless of switch position, no indicators/hazards, no sidelights, no full beam" problem that I (& you) had, no fault codes, nothing. He did suggest if it happened again & I was nearby then I could take it straight to him.
Since I've had it back it's been faultless so I have no idea what is going on :idunno: . I now have 2 LCM's as spares just in case the issue pops up again.

Yes probably worth keeping those. Mine started off as an intermittent issue and then suddenly became permanent. Hopefully you remain trouble free, and thanks for the update

So the saga continues....
After a lovely day out to Thoresby Hall on Saturday with no issues whatsoever the dreaded lighting problem reared its ugly head again. Here's what I found after removing the LCM.

Quite a bit of bad corrosion going on there :headbang:. Fitted a spare & everything is working again but of course I have the tamper light on & for some reason the light bulb failure lamp is showing on the dash. I've just been all round the external lighting including the number plate lamps and I can't see any bulb failures at all :idunno: .
It's got to go in to have the tamper light reset at some stage so I hopefully it'll get sorted then.
