Last track day of the season.. done and dusted.

So yesterday I ran at Dubai Autodrome International circuit. Morning session from 8am to 12.

The car was rock solid, even though the temps were a little higher in the morning than I like, and you could feel it in the track, being more slippery than at other days when I've done the Club circuit here.

Had a really good and fun day, working on my braking points, and lines. My 3rd session with new brakes and still can't believe the stopping power. My braking points are all over the joint ATM, most corners being able to brake more than 40 metres later than with stock claws.

The 120kg sack of potatoes sitting next to me didn't detract much from the fun, and even the odd, "don't brake yet" coming from his mouth was actually very helpful.;)

The car was awesome!!! Just awesome.. it's so well setup now that all corners, it's not the car at the limit, but me and my futile grasp on life. ;)

Every corner the back end is loose, and I have to forcefully drive out of every corner, commiting fully, it makes for a very rewarding, but pretty darn difficult drive. After 12 laps when I pulled my t-shirt was completely soaked. But boy, the smiles were unstoppable.

Such an awesome car.. just handels so nicely.. def not the fastest on the track. Lots of gt3rs, radicals and Cleo cup (full spec race cars) came flying past me. But that was pretty much it. The car could hold its own against many many other (non race prepped ) cars.

The only thing I would love is an extra inch of rubber in the back.. tires are now completely shot, do next set will either be a set of nt101 or the RS? Not sure yet. And I wanna go back to 18's for the track for next season..

So much to do now before next season, new racing clutch / flywheel. :stir: Strip some more weight. Small battery. Adjust my front and rear Aero slightly. The back could use another 3 or 4 degrees.

And most importantly I have to come up with a way to not choke the intake. In a tastefully manner... Sigh.

All in all, super day was had with my car, retired when oil temps got to 125 degrees, which is my limit. 39 laps and one complete tank ran.

Vid after camera dislodge of me on it.

Great car, great owner and great post :)
It must be a special experience to drive at a track like this...

Vid added

I already have an extra 12 row cooler in the front right fang. The next step will be to remove the oil thermostat. That's about all the pics Ive got, the camera dislodged from the mount , so next season I'll have a proper camera setup with overlay. It was all pretty rushed, only found out 6pm the day before that id have the day off, so zero prep went into the day aside from oil check and tire px. Not how I like to run on the day. But you can only do what you can do, so was happy enough just to be out there. :driving:

 Sounds fun! Thanks for posting. Now get a decent camera and mount to go along with it. I mean your Z4's interior is nice and all but it'd be cool to actually see the track too!

 Yeah its on the list to get sorted properly this off season. That and a proper lap timer. Having a brain storm about the next few mods that will occur while we have a bit of down time. :driving:
