Last few days with the M135i :-(

Hi all,

Well just a few more days to go and will be saying goodbye to the little M135i :( after 2 years. Have to say I've thoroughly enjoyed owning this car, its fast, smooth, well screwed together and hasn't put a foot wrong in my ownership, engine is such a peach, always sounds wonderful in the higher rev range yet docile and quiet when around town. Not the best looking of cars but I always think as hatchbacks go it stands out so can forgive it as it does everything else so well.

Ermmmm  an M140i

Placed order today but looking at Sept delivery so a longish wait so will be slumbing it in the Z3 for a few months :)

First time I've ordered a non silver BMW in living memory :o

Hi Tim
I changed from the Z4 to the M135i and have to say I'm loving it. These cars really are great all rounders. Will be interesting to see what you think of the M140i! I usually love changing models but I'm pretty sure in a years time it will be the 140i I'll be in :D

You did'nt fancy a change or a vert then? I know you hated the 2.0i zed engine but did'nt you fancy a new 35i / is?

I did think another Z4 John but the deals aren't quite as good at the moment, my dealer was doing a 2.0 for 2k down and 420 a month :o which is way too much and the discount wasn't great, same with 35i, must be because its summer :) To be fair to the dealer I went armed with a coast2coast quote and few other national BMW dealer quotes on the M135i and the dealer matched the best contribution of 7k so reasonably happy with that. I've specced the M140i a fair bit higher than my current M135i but only 30 quid a month more on the PCP I currently have. Its likely I'm going to be hanging onto M140i after 4 years and buy it off BMW, problem is with PCPs they can be never ending and the deposit you put in at the start is always lost.

Did the same John but I do still miss the Z4s looks but I've never been wanting with the M135i and it suits me. I've gone for the Estoril and oyster leather with fineline wood trim, basically completely opposite to what I currently have :)

Yes I feel the same Tim, you're on a gravy train with a very expensive leave the carriage ticket. Gelling well with mine now after a rocky start, so i may well stick it out and buy it off at PCP end as well.

Your new one sounds great, gotta be honest the looks are not my cuppa but as you say it suits you and I'm sure they're a cracking drive. It's going to be a long few months...

The new model looks a lot better I must say though. My son has a 140 on order, and with the discounts of 21% off list, that is something that makes it a very attractive offer.

If I hadn't of gone with the A45 AMG I would have almost certainly bought an M140i ... I will be interested to hear what you think in due course :)

Im loving mine and wouldn't mind a new M140i in two years if i can swing a new deal :D

Ive had mine since February and covered just ove 4k so its well run in :driving:

Think i got close to 8k off mine so it sounds like they're still doing good deals on the 140

So what colour is it then Tim?

I went for Estoril this time not normally a colour Id go for but really wanted something completely different, so spec is

Manual
Estoril Blue
Oyster (cream) and black leather with chrome dash finisher
Fineline wood trim
Grey windscreen band
Sunroof
Professional Nav/Multimedia
Lumbar support
Adaptive Suspension
Folding/dipping exterior mirrors
Chromeline exterior around windows
Comfort access
Runflats (have I made right choice lol)
Headlamp wash
Front and rear parking sensors

Nearly went for the 19" performance alloys but adds 3K :o so may source some off ebay Germany.

I'll report back, power has gone up a little, I think mine being pre LCI is 320bhp, LCI is 326 and the M140i is 346bhp I think to compete against the Ford Focus RS :?

Curious to know how many miles did you cover on this one Tim ? I know the Z wasn't all year round for you

Just run in lol, it will be a bargain for the next owner :)

Tim.

Elusive answer Tim  I really don't get why you would "rent" a car then not use it just so it can be returned virtually as you received it & on minimal miles :?
ludicrous

Maybe to you, depends how you look at it, the cars my hobby so doesn't matter to me if I do a 1000 or 10,000 during my ownership as I still enjoy the car and what it has to offer. Theres a guy a few doors from me who has a 1995 Ford Escort Cosworth tucked in his garage and I think I've seen him get it out 4 times in 20 years so I'm doing pretty well :P

Hardly a good analogy Tim as he most likely paid for it many years back
I just see zero benefit to anyone other than BMW finance & whoever buys your ex car :?
