Thought id post this up here to save a few of you some money.
Had a lambda probe fault with my car for a few months, I kept putting it off as I was quoted £180 from a main dealer
Yesterday I decided i needed to do something about it so rang up my local Euro Car Parts & got a quote of £63 (bit of trade discount included) :wink:
It needed doing so thought a crappy brand lambda probe would do, when I picked it up i found it was a Bosch universal probe. Wasnt to happy about it being universal but made me feel better it was bosch
Anyway I took off the old one only to find the new sensor was exactly the same as my old one in every way except it had no plug! So for BMW to attach a plug & give it a 2 year warranty it would have cost me an extra £117
Its a bit of a fiddly job but very easy if you take your time. It comes with all the bits you need to match it to your original connector. Heres how it all looks
