KwikFit Hunter Alignment

I want to get both my cars' alignment adjusted. My Z is squirmy and I hit a curb in my 640D and it now vibrates slightly at about 80mph.

I hear good things about the Hunter system. However, any tool is only as good the the people who use them. Are Kwik-Fit any good?

I'm always put off by the name, they seem to have high staff turn over which isn't a good thing.
Try looking for an alignment specialist instead of a jack of all trades type place :driving:

as you say yourself, it fully depends on the man behind the controls... even kwikfit, although they don't have a good reputation, can deliver good work

especially when you know what to aim for (spec wise) you can always ask for a print of the results

Useless. I asked for zero toe up front and they didn't know how to use the Hunter other than to factory settings. Charged me £50 just for front toe and claimed it was because the equipment was so good/expensive at £250k. They are about a tenth of that.

Go to a specialist. The guy I use does nothing but alignments.

I will never use kwik-fit again after they put a directional tyre on the wrong way round and inflated it to 40 something psi when the rest of the tyres were around 35.

I agree it all depends on the staff and the service centre. I had new tyres put on mine, and they damaged one of the wheels. They owned up to it and got it repaired, however afterwards it didn't match the other three wheels.

I told them I wasn't happy and so they got all four refurbished, it was a good win for me as 3 of them had a bit of kurb rash. Now all four are perfect and the colour matches the car better (the original colour was too silver). I know my normal tyre guy wouldn't have been able to afford to do this. They also did a Hunter alignment on the car for free. So in the future, even though they mucked up initially, they made up for it with their customer service.

Throughout it all, they made me feel valued as a customer and never once did I feel like they weren't going to solve the issue. So even though I never thought I would say it, I would recommend Kwik Fit, at the very least for tyres.

Like anything though it can be luck of the draw, and perhaps some people would say I had a bad service seeing as they damaged the wheel originally, I guess it depends on how you view it!

As above - Depends on the guy doing the work. Luckily one of the guys in my local centre, where the manager is a friend of mine, is a big "track day" type, so knows the importance of geometry. He also lets me get in there with him whilst he's got it in the air, and is happy to set it to my preferences, rather than the book.

If you get a good guy, it's worth doing the £119 "Geocare" which gives unlimited adjustments and check for 2 years. Think mine has been there 5 times already this year for tweaking..

OK guys, Kwik-Fit a plan B then. Anyone recommend a good outfit to do this in Nottingham - or the East Midlands? At a push don't mind going further afield.
My GF has had her 1 series tracking done at a local garage. She said it was a good job done but I'm not sure they'd have the gear to do this properly....

Can't help you with your area but have a search on here and you will see places near you with 4 wheel alignment machines.

A quick google of the garage should give you more of an idea about them
