Are the Clubsports suitable for daily drive abuse though? In that I mean are they 'fit & forget' with dust/muck covers or do they need maintaining much more frequently?

they need rebuilding at certain intervals and also come with no warranty as they are intended for track use...

completely, they use progressive sprigts too so will offer a very comfy ride.... clubsport moves to race linear springs.... The clubsport/comp are definitely DDable but i couldnt do it... nor would i want to....

So on a scale of one to ten how do you rate each spring type for comfort and handling?

Woots, with V3 and other similar adjustable suspensions, such as the AC Schnitzer Racing (Bilstein PSS10) that I have, both the comfort AND the handling can be made better than OEM with the correct settings. It's just a matter of finding the right settings for the road and then finding the right ones for the track, and then it's a simple matter of making the adjustments to suit the occasion. I can drive all day long with my ACS road settings, and have done so, but I was glad to get out of my car after an hour of fast road driving when it was OEM because it gave me a stiff neck. I think the MC might be worse than the MR in this department.

I have KWV3 on my Z3MC but for that car, the KWV3 front suspension is a proper coilover with linear springs. How much difference there is between that and the Clubsport in the poundage of the springs, I wouldn't know, (but I think they are similar in the 400lbs region) but that suspension can be made to be as equally comfortable. I can tell you that comfort in the ride is mostly determined by the rear suspension.

I remember you mentioning the B16/PSS10 kit and it's still on my shortlist

Still trying to see if I can cobble together a RideControl/Damptronic kit so that I can use a dial/app to control it from inside the car

not to steal the thread, but i am looking at H&R springs for my coupe too, but just one question, does it drop the rear as much as the front? is it level? i dont want to be star-gazing while i am driving...

Just fitted H&Rs on my 3.0si they look great and level to me
:D
