Knightmare Journey

Returning home for christmas Leeds to Bournemouth 270 miles. 100 miles in tyre pressure warning lights came on stopped at three consecutive motorway services and none of the air pumps were working. Then came off the motorway and 4th services air pump not working any way continue on and right front decides to give up the ghost on the A43 outside banbury halfway into journey. Manage to pull into another garage and ironically the air pump is working there but tyre has decided to cave in and tear on the side wall. 2hrs45mins waiting for the RAC in 1.5 degrees but had heated seats on and stereo. 1hr trip on the back of a lorry then once I`m dropped of in swindon battery is flat and once i get it started the thing wont move on the icy car park. The joys of owning a Z4. Anyway an early start tommorow to try and source a runflat front tyre and a mobile fitter and maybe a shovel to dig myself out. Lets hope tommorow is a better day!

The joys of UK weather. Hope you get sorted - just looking out of my window and it's snowing again!

Sorry to hear your bad luck.

I thought you should be good to cover atleast 50miles with a punctured rft?

Also why didnt the RAC drop you off to Bournmouth?

Good luck getting it all sorted today.... may seem like a bit of a suprise.. but when my mums E90 had a punture the cheapest rft they found was kwickfit! but BMW only charged an extra £15 so they went there in the end.

Sorry to hear that.. What a stroke of bad luck.

When I read the title I thought you were going to tell us how you were on an old kids program...

My sister lives in Swindon so decided to get dropped off there rather than get the RAC to recover me to bournemouth, which would have been a 3hr journey. Managed to find a mobile tyre company to get a bridgestone runflat and fit it although it was the only mobile fitted they did today! So finnally arrived in bournemouth around 3ish in time to do some last minute xmas shopping.

Glad you got it sorted and you were okay, how frustrating though. What a pain that the air pumps in the first three services weren't working.
