Key stopped working?

One of my keys will no longer open and close the car

Is it true it can be charged using a rechargeable toothbrush charger!?

Sure I've read somewhere that they recharge whilst driving, try opening your car with one key then starting and running it for a while with the "flat" one.

They do indeed recharge while driving. Induction charge.

I've never researched it to see if the 'toothbrush' method works, but sounds like an urban myth to me, but can see the induction charge parallel. Anyway as you simply need to use the key then I see no point.

If you don't have a second key open the car manually with the 'dead' key, alarm may go off. Put it in ignition and start the car.

This was news to me when I got the car. I switch keys every couple of months to keep them charged. I had a VW mkiv golf before, and was used to changing keys to keep the infra red synced with the receiver (no idea if this applies to the z4 remote - prob better technology) so comes easily, but prob overkill.
