Key Roof Down

Comfort access allows raising of the roof from the fob, keyless start, keyless entry to the car etc. If you don't have it, you can't put the roof up without the fob unless you have it coded/smarttop installed. The only way you could, before the security update, was to use the physical key from inside the fob, in the door lock which would raise the roof back up even on non comfort access cars. But, as I say, that was before the security update which disabled this option.

No I've not got CA
I do miss being able to drop the roof as I walk towards the car on a nice day since the security update but it's no big deal.

Sorry I thought you were asking about raising the roof (closing it) not opening it. The security update does not prevent you lowering/opening the roof from the fob, provided you're close enough to the car and keep the unlock button continuously pressed. If your roof no longer goes down from the fob, speak with the dealer, because it should. What I was talking to you about in the prior post is raising the roof from the fob, which you cannot do without CA or Smarttop/coding.

Thanks I'll give it another go, get closer and press for longer

Bought my 18i brand new, registered July 13. It doesn't have comfort access but I can both open and close the roof from my key fob :o

I haven't done anything to it or modified anything...everything is standard.

I've never heard of that. I wonder if they've changed something very recently then..
