Key prices!!!

I keep the plastic key in my wallet, and it does contain the matched transponder, and will start the car. I bought my car as a CPO from a dealer, and as it only had one key they had to order both the second remote head key and the plastic key from BMW. I had to insist on the plastic key, as they were originally only going to get the second main key for me.

If you've got a plastic key, go try and start the car with it - you might be pleasantly surprised ... :)
 
Agree - the plastic key does have a transponder as Ben had to rip it out for my new key. If you have an original key AND you can take your car & key to Ben then he can do more for you.
 
Another thumbs up for Ben :thumbsup: :thumbsup: Cut open my key to findone battery post had snapped. Made a mess of soldering in a new battery..now supplied with battery terminals in different positions..... :headbang: Key assembly was now to thick to fit into case!! Sent the bits to Ben and he rescued the situation with a repair and new case. LESSON LEARNED!! Key works perfectly. THANKS

seems normal for a replacement key nowadays , 140 for my renault master too, another case of dealers mugging their captive clients. I would never let a valet park my M anyway, not that we stay in fancy hotels, just remember the one in ferris bueller's day out !!!! :rofl: :driving:
