Hello all
I have an 04 Alpina Roadster S.
I don't have the owners handbook/manual (guess ebay is the best bet), so not sure if I should have any memory seat functions etc specific to individual keys?
If i do, how do I use it?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum... as this is an information request as opposed to a "hello" I will move it to the "z4 discussion" ares in the hope that you'll get a more timely response!

(sorry, I don't know the answer)

Welcome! :D

Welcome to the forum.

:worthless:

Hope this helps.

To store
Ignition key in position 1 or higher
1. Adjust seat to desired position
2. Press the MEMORY button: the indicator
lamp in the button lights up
3. Press memory button 1, 2 or 3: the indicator
lamp goes out.
To select a stored setting
Do not select a memory position while
the vehicle is moving. If you do so,
there is a risk of accident from an unexpected
movement of the seat or steering
wheel.<
Convenience function
1. Unlock and open the driver's door or
turn the ignition key to position 1
2. Press memory button 1, 2 or 3 briefly.
Movement stops immediately when one
of the seat adjustment or memory buttons
is operated during the adjustment
process.
Safety function
1. Close the driver's door and turn the
ignition key to position 0 or 2
2. Press and hold the desired memory
button 1, 2 or 3 until the adjustment
process is completed.
If you press the MEMORY button accidentally:
Press the button again; the indicator lamp
goes out.

Thanks very much, i have the memory seats working, but should it remember a keys preferences? E.g. if the wife gets in with her key will it remember her seat position and then change it when I get in with my key?

i was under the impression this wasn't possible on Z4's for some reason...

i have two keys but have never tried it.. can anyone confirm ?

I have an 04/04 build car.

When the wife unlocks car the seat moves to her position #1 key and position on memory#1.

I have the #2 key and when I unlock the car it moves to position #2.

I don't have a wife anymore, but I do have two keys and have ops tested this. I think it is an option that can be programmed either ON or OFF. With mine (2003) it will return to the last postion the seat was in when the doors were locked with the respective key (it has nothing to do with the memory 1,2, or 3). If I left the seat back and up when I locked the door with key #1 the next time I unlock the door with Key #1 it will return to the back and up postition. Of course, if I don't use Key #2 the seat will not move when unlocking with Key #1 because it is, duh, still in the last position it was when I locked it. It took forever for the dealer to explain this to me, but when I went home and got my other key and he showed me it all finally made sense. So, in summary, the key/seat memory (in my 2003 model) has no relationship to the Memory 1,2,3 function on the seat - it only remembers last position.
