Key functions / car+key memory settings

Hi all,
Just spoken to my dealer about having some of the programmable options set and i've got a few q's:

1. Does anyone have a full list of available car/key settings? Sure i've seen scans somewhere...
2. Can the windows on my coupe be set to automatically wind-up when I lock the car? Dealer claims can't be done.
3. Can the temperature < 3 degrees beep be turned off? Dealer claims can't be done.
4. Can the key be set so that the lower boot release button opens the boot without opening the rest of the car? Dealer claims can't be done, thus rendering that button entirely useless on my car.

Not sure on the others but isn't this standard? Mine does. Hold lock button for 3 seconds, all windows close (keep button held down)

Thanks mikedav - will try that. Don't know why I didn't think to, as you can get the windows to lower by holding the unlock button :roll:

I believe the other two can be done.

Someobdy did post a list for a roadster IIRC but dealer is best bet as options do change from year to year and some are country specific

My old E46's I could open boot without unlocking the car but by default I have to unlock the Z4, PITA.

Me three on the boot only unlock.

I keep meaning to get some of this programming done but never remember to when the car is at the dealer (thats not been very often ).

Can't be done as one-touch, only if you hold the button down.

Highly unlikely.

I will check on my coupe tomorrow to see just what i can and can't do with my key fob.

I found the 'windows open' to my dismay when cleaning the car the other day. Whilst i was cleaning one of the wheels, my jeans rucked up enough to create a fold, which in turn managed to activate and hold down the door unlock function. The windows lowered about 2 cm. I then threw a bucket of water over the car, not realising the windows were open, and soaked my lovely yellow and black seats.

Never mind, i won't make that mistake again, lesson learned!

Thanks for all the replies so far guys - yep, i've just tested the 'roll up with lock button' and it works!

If you go to your dealer and ask, there is a sheet of paper called ''BMW car and key memory checklist'' that you fill out with all the key options and setting, i had mine changed to my pref. as i didnt like how it was setm by the first owner

Thanks Elliot. I did ask and he immediately said "we can't show you a list until we've gone into the system ourselves to make changes". Unsuprisingly, I wasn't given a sheet when I collected the car later on.

I was told this list varies from car to car depending on what had been installed in the car, and they would hook the car up and download the list of available options... and then ask what I wanted. That's what happened with mine anyways.

Ah yes, thanks jluspo (and gannet) - that's the one. Found that myself yesterday (FAQ thread in the Z forum on bimmerfest), although I think it does say that's not the full list (although it does include answers to 2 of my q's: disabling temp beep is possible and boot release should be too, assuming American options don't vary from UK ones).

Along those lines has any one been able to get two different fobs to move the memory seat to two different pre-set positions when you unlock the doors?
