Key fob not unlocking drivers side door

I have a 03 Z4 which will not unlock the drivers side by pressing on the key fob. The problem is beginning to get worse as now even when I turn the key in the drivers door the pin will not rise. What may be causing this, and how can I fix it/how much am I looking at?
The car will lock doors when I press on the fob
 
I think it could be a loose or stretched bowden cable inside the door, someone will soon correct me if I am wrong
