Key Charging

Having lost my main key I have dug out the spare. The battery appears to be very low. I understand this charges when in the ignition but as I'm not driving anywhere for a while can you charge by having the key in and turned to an ignition position...perhaps the first click? Thanks

Yes I have used that before just put the key on the charger overnight and all should be good
